Y2K 1999

 

It's December 31st of 1999 the party animals are out at a New Year's party, drinks are abundant and there's plenty of dancing while the beats of the decade blast from a Dj station. The clock is ticking down to midnight, everyone turns to watch it inch closer to that dreaded time. With baited breaths they waited for once it strikes the world is going to end, computers were rumoured to malfunction with a new virus that will harm not only home PCs but also military ones controlling nukes world wide.

The second hand moved now both are at the forewarned time, the music stopped as everyone held their breath.

Nothing happened. Not a single thing no nukes went off, no computers exploded or spontaneously combusted in to flames.  The music began again the people once more went to drinking and dancing, after all it's now the year 2000 a whole new century has begun.
